Volunteer Opportunities

Contee Parago Triangle Park

Baltimore

Contee-Parago Triangle Park serves as an entry point to the Bolton Hill neighborhood and is one of the first park spaces in Baltimore to commemorate two of its African American residents, William Gailes Contee and Edward Wilson Parago. The Bolton Hill Community Association is organizing efforts for a major park renovation to be completed by the 50th anniversary of the park's establishment, in May 2021. Join us in providing updated park designs for this exciting anniversary celebration!

For this project, we are looking for landscape architects in Baltimore with an interest and experience in park design, sustainable landscaping, and neighborhood development.

Eleanor Roosevelt STEM Addition

Prince George's County

One of the regions top STEM high schools is bursting at the seams. The school leadership of Eleanor Roosevelt HS is interested in convening an inclusive participatory process to produce an architectural design that addresses a lack of interior classroom space as well as out of date facilities. Currently, students are housed in temporaries that are in varying states of disrepair. As the leading Science and Technology program in Prince George’s County, Eleanor Roosevelt PTSA and leadership seeks a design solution that will embody the school and its values as well as provide a place for high-level scholarship and scientific study to take place.

Architects with experience in laboratory/higher ed/K12 school design are encouraged to apply.

Cesar Chavez Spanish Immersion School Campus Beautification Plan

Prince George's County

Are you a landscape architect passionate about improving student learning outcomes through design? Cesar Chavez Dual Spanish Immersion Language School sees the potential in its school grounds! To determine the best choices for the campus, our design process will engage the Cesar Chavez family- students, teachers, staff, and parents in all stages of the process- from focusing in on a goal, ideating on how to achieve the goal, and prioritizing elements. Won’t you help us make the campus at Cesar Chavez an environmentally-friendly, low-maintenance space that supports outdoor experiential learning and the school’s vision for a safe, diverse, and inclusive environment?

Architects and Landscape architects with an interest in creating community cohesion through design are encouraged to apply. We’d love to have a bilingual English-Spanish design team for this project!

“Working with NDC has taught me to listen to every unique voice in a design process and to always include those voices in design decisions.”

Carol Currotto, Interior Designer

“NDC provided me with an opportunity to work on a project with community stakeholders. I’ve always believed that to have a better understanding of where you are working, you need to go to those communities and talk with the residents.”

Jasmine Forbes, City & Regional Planner
